Jobs Summary

The maintenance team provides functional support across three major assets:  Armada, Everest and Lomond.  Within that team, the Principal Control & Instrument Engineer is responsible for providing assurance that operations are compliant with BG Group standards and  procedures, and that enhanced business and operational practices are adopted to achieve functional and operational excellence.  We are keen to recruit an experienced individual to this role.  Suitable candidates are likely to be mid-career professionals who have trained within an operating company, consultancy or other relevant organisation, who understand the operations and maintenance procedures for C&I and must be part of (or have had experience within) a team running an asset.

Key Accountabilities

  • Monitor maintenance performance and provide maintenance strategy improvements ensuring outputs from reliability and availability modelling are incorporated into the improvement process.
  • Complete twelve monthly reviews of all SCEs and associated performance standards to ensure compliance with verification assurance methods.
  • Liaise with vendors and sub-contractors to improve equipment performance and reliability. Track performance against KPIs.
  • Provide guidance and direction in the preparation and implementation of service support contracts. Full technical ownership of related contracts.
  • Ensure CMMS system contains a comprehensive and accurate maintenance strategy. Continually review and audit completed work orders.
  • Identify safety and production critical spares to ensure minimum stock holding. Lead 12 monthly reviews to ensure stock optimisation.
  • Set agreed limits for routine and non-routine Control & Instrument backlog and take the necessary action to eliminate growth.
  • Responsible for cross asset maintenance support of DCS software and other programmable systems.
  • Ensure all health care activities contained within the CMMS are included on the year plan.
  • Act as single point of contact for all Control & Instrument health care contracts and ensure valid support contracts are in place.
