The chance for a commercially minded geologist to take on a pivotal role in the West African team of a small, listed E&P business at a time of growth

The company holds a balanced portfolio of production, development and exploration assets in Brazil and West Africa. The London office is responsible for West Africa where they have high potential assets, onshore and offshore, at each stage of the E&P cycle. In the coming year, they plan to enhance their portfolio in the region and seek new venture opportunities in both frontier areas and proven hydrocarbon fairways.

This will be a senior technical position in the small London team, reporting to the VP Subsurface/Africa. You should be a proven oil finder with a substantial body of oil & gas experience and specific knowledge of West African passive margins and pre-salt plays. The role will be exploration and new ventures led and this is where your core skills should lie. Additional competence in development and production geology would be ideal, though not essential. While the role is technically focused, given the size of the team, you will also be expected to contribute to commercial decision making.

You should have relevant academic qualifications to postgraduate level and will have obtained early career experiences and training with a large Operator. User knowledge of the Kingdom suite of software is preferred. In addition to English language capabilities, spoken and written fluency in French will be a distinct advantage.
