Background Gaffney, Cline & Associates (GCA) is an international advisory firm focused on providing integrated technical and managerial services to all sectors of the oil and gas industry. In addition to Reservoir Engineering, GCA advises a wide group of clients in exploration, reservoir evaluation, field development, drilling and production, pipeline, refining and LNG projects around the world. GCA has principal offices in London, Houston, Moscow, Buenos Aires, Singapore and Sydney. The Role Senor level Reservoir Engineers will report to the General Manager. Multi-disciplined teams are assembled for most assignments and you might be attached to several projects at a time, often as Project Manager; sometimes as a team member.
Experience Required Above all, we are keen to engage candidates with a broad Petroleum/Reservoir Engineering background and good management skills that can be applied to integrated projects. Experience of reservoir engineering studies using appropriate, state-of-the-art techniques is essential (e.g. reservoir simulation, material balance, decline curve analysis, PVT and SCAL data analysis, well and reservoir performance evaluation, production forecasting, reserves estimation, EOR projects evaluation and recovery mechanisms). You will be expected to develop and maintain close links with other engineering and geoscience disciplines. The ability to lead reservoir engineering applications is also critical. You should have a track record in presenting data, interpretations and reports to clients. Some experience related to cost/benefit estimates, achievability, practicality and economic impact is desirable. Skills, Abilities and Other Requirements Suitable candidates will be highly motivated with excellent analytical and problem solving abilities. You must be able to understand and anticipate customer needs in different areas of the business, across a variety of cultures. You will be delivery focussed with well-honed influencing skills, and capable of building effective working relationships with others at all levels of seniority. Excellent communication skills are essential - to include writing reports and making presentations - and you must have demonstrable coaching/teaching abilities. Strong project, budget and time management skills are pre-requisite. A Masters degree in Petroleum Engineering is a minimum requirement for these roles. Exposure to a range of international work environments is important. Experience of delivering a premium advisory service, either within an operator or consultancy environment is an advantage.
