Recruitment Consultant

Simpson Crowden is a well established global recruitment company, focused on client-retained recruitment projects in the international energy sector.  We are experienced at recruiting for oil, gas & power businesses, service companies, banks and consultancies for roles throughout the energy chain.  As part of our continued expansion programme, we're looking for an experienced oil and gas recruiter to play an instrumental part in setting up and managing our contingency service.

The Role

Develop and manage an efficient and profitable international energy contingency recruitment offering, as a seamless and complimentary addition to our existing executive search practice.  Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Business planning and marketing - design and launch a contingency offering to existing and new clients, including branding initiatives and web development;
  • Business development - securing new clients and extending relationships with existing clients;
  • Account management and assignment delivery - day to day management of key accounts and timely execution of assignments to a consistently high standard;
  • Candidate sourcing and marketing - promotion of the most capable and high caliber candidates throughout and beyond our existing customer base;
  • Strategy and process - contribute to the introduction and development of new practices and procedures that will enhance business performance.

Candidate Requirements

You will have already spent at least the last two years in contingency recruitment and have a successful track record of placing people in oil and gas.  We're looking for people with proven past billings of at least £180k per annum. Your knowledge of the international energy market should equal your strong commercial acumen and your key strengths will be your ability to influence at the highest levels, to create and roll out credible business strategies and to manage multiple projects to tight timeframes and to the highest quality.

Core qualities include:

  • meticulous attention to detail, whilst still keeping an eye on the bigger picture;
  • comfortable with creating systems and processes from scratch;
  • ability to naturally inspire rather than coerce;
  • equally comfortable working alone and as a member of a team;
  • outstanding customer service ethic;
  • genuine interest in - and passion for - creating a high quality, professional service offering in an increasing competitive environment.

Reporting Structure

This role reports to the Managing Partner. You will work alongside (and be supported by) an integrated team of search consultants, research and administration staff and in time would be expected to recruit your own team.
