Opportunities with OMV (UK) Limited

OMV, headquartered in Vienna, is one of Austria's largest listed industrial companies and the leading energy group in the European growth belt. The company was founded in 1956, has a presence in 16 countries and has a workforce of around 32,000. Group revenue in 2010 was €23.32 billion. As an international integrated energy group OMV is active in Refining & Marketing including Petrochemicals (R&M), Gas & Power (G&P) and Exploration & Production (E&P).

In E&P, OMV is a global player with oil and gas reserves of approximately 1.15 billion boe. Worldwide daily production amounts to more than 300,000 boe/d (recorded in Q3/2010). The company's E&P operations currently focus on six core regions: Central & Eastern Europe (including Austria), North Africa, the Middle East, Australia/New Zealand, the Caspian region and North-West Europe (including the UK).

OMV has been active in the UK since 1987. As a result of the UK 26th Licensing Round in 2010, the company now holds eight operated licenses and 28 non-operated licenses in the Central North Sea and West of Shetlands (WOS).  This was OMV's most successful Licensing Round and demonstrates the company's commitment and belief in growing its UK business. The future focus will be West of Shetland (WOS) where it sees substantial value.

At present the UK produces 8,000 boe/d from the Beryl Field (and its satellites), the Jade Field, the Howe Field, the Boa Field, the Schiehallion Field and the Bardolino Field. This is expected to rise to 30,000 boe/d by 2020 as new assets come on-stream (Jackdaw, Rosebank and Cambo in 2016-2018) and as the Schiehallion redevelopment is completed (by 2016). The Schiehallion redevelopment has recently received go ahead. At a cost of €3 billion to the joint venture the redevelopment should prolong the field life to 2035 and beyond. It is believed that the field holds a further 325 million barrels of oil.

In addition the company owns several pieces of infrastructure including the Beryl platforms and Sage gas export pipeline and terminal, the Schiehallion FPSO vessel, the WOSPS gas export pipeline and the new SIRGE gas export pipeline from Shetland to the mainland.
